EDUCATING THE TRAVEL TRADE ABOUT OUR CLIENTS
46.7% of Scandinavians seek inspiration for trip planning via OTA’s and 15% via traditional travel agencies and after the pandemic the number of travelers who book directly through tour operators has increased by 20.7%. Therefore, it is crucial that our clients are featured on these platforms and that travel agents have great knowledge of client’s product offerings.
We continuously strive to educate the travel trade about our clients through many different activities. We keep them updated via trade newsletters, sales missions, webinars, training programs, and give them the chance to experience the products and destinations first-hand on FAM trips. We constantly try to find new and innovative ways to keep the travel trade engaged in our clients.
The various activities we target towards the travel trade are the means to achieve one goal: Increased sales and visitation.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM TRADE ACTIVITIES
Client: Visit California
Atlantic Link arranged a FAM trip to Calfiornia in partnership with Air Canada and California partners for 8 Content Managers from major Scandinavian tour operators. The purpose of the trip and itinerary was to inspire the Content Managers to produce inspirational content for their platforms (website, social media, newsletters and marketing materials)
Client: Qatar Tourism
Atlantic Link created an online activation to increase awareness of TAWASH, Qatar Tourism’s online training program. The message was pushed via trade newsletters and the agents were encouraged to complete the training program to win a seat on a 3-day FAM trip to Qatar the following month. The number of sign ups to the training program increased by 49% during the activation.
Client: Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants
Six MICE agents from Denmark participated in a FAM trip to Scotland, which purpose was to promote the possibilities for hosting MICE groups at Kimpton Hotel & Restaurants in Scotland. During the three-day itinerary the group visitied Kimpton properties in Edinburgh and Glasgow. The trip resulted in increased room nights for both properties and a full buy-out of one property for October 2021 (400 RN).
