INTRODUCING QATAR TO SCANDINAVIA
OBJECTIVES
Historically, Qatar has been best known as a stopover destination due to the Qatar Airways hub in Doha. However, Qatar Tourism’s long-term strategy aims to increase annual international visitor arrivals to six million by 2030.
To support this ambition, Qatar Tourism partnered with Atlantic Link to strengthen awareness of the destination and increase visitation from Scandinavia and Finland.
SOLUTION
Alongside Qatar Tourism’s global consumer campaign, Experience a World Beyond, Atlantic Link developed and executed a comprehensive B2B strategy across the Nordic region.
Working closely with travel trade partners, we delivered a range of activities designed to increase destination awareness, improve market accessibility, and inspire more Scandinavian and Finnish travelers to visit Qatar. Through targeted trade engagement, training, events, partnerships, and destination promotion, we helped position Qatar as more than a stopover destination.
RESULTS
Despite travel restrictions during the Covid-19 period, the strategy successfully increased awareness and knowledge of Qatar among travel trade professionals across Scandinavia and Finland.
The activities strengthened Qatar’s position within the Nordic travel industry and contributed to increased visitation from the region. The partnership established a strong foundation for continued growth and future tourism development in the Nordic market.
