Giro d’Italia 2024 in Val Gardena |

After 2017, the famous men's road cycling stage race "Giro d'Italia" returns to Val Gardena.
Val Gardena, where cycling has always played a major role, has had the honour of hosting the Giro d'Italia nine times: the first time in 1940. On May 21 and May 22 2024, the Giro returns to the valley again as the finish stage in S. Cristina on May 21 2024 and the start stage in Selva on May 22 2024.

The traditional costumes of the Val Gardena are known far beyond its boarders. Every year, on the first Sunday of August, they are shown on a big festival, which is alternately hosted by one of the three villages of Val Gardena. The festival begins with concerts from the music chapels and choirs and with performances of the traditional dancing groups of the Val Gardena. In the afternoon, the participants of the famous traditional costume parade walk through the hosting village. Finally, the festival ends with more concerts. During the day, various traditional dishes and drinks are offered. |
