Get ready for the biggest LGBT-celebration in the world

The air turns warm, the sun shines bright and the boys jog with their shirts off, catching the rays. It’s Pride season in San Francisco!

On the last weekend of June, San Francisco will once again explode into a big rainbow of music, dance and pure ecstasy during the annual Pride. Hundreds of thousands of happy people gather in the streets and together they create the USA’s biggest Pride party with colorful costumes and fun events. The party’s epicenter can be found in the square in front of San Francisco’s Town Hall – the same place as the iconic homosexual Harvey Milk spoke to the people during the famous “Gay Freedom Day” in 1978.

San Francisco’s Pride dates back to 1972. Today, the city hosts more than one million people who celebrate their sexuality and love every year with a giant party and demonstration filling all streets and alleys.

If you are a rookie to the LGBTQ community in San Francisco, this amazing festival is a great introduction to what the area can offer. The festival, founded in 1970, this year has “resistance generation” as a theme.

It’s free to attend San Francisco Pride, and the culmination of the festival takes place on Sunday, June 30, where the city streets will be packed with colorful people for the great Pride parade, which is the trademark highlight of the event.
