It’s also ideal to discover the area’s hidden places which aren’t normally accessible. Visitors can explore the area’s beautiful contrasts, with the snow-capped Dolomites’ peaks touching the sky offset by the blooming Alpine meadows and plateaus, awash with colours and heady scents.
Spring and early summer are also the season of sports events such as bike day and the half marathon taking place. Moreover, a well-known ski route has become accessible for hiking as well! | | Sellaronda HIKE Tour The famous Sellaronda ski tour, a winter season highlight, has been converted into a beautiful Sellaronda HIKE Tour, allowing guests to explore the unique landscape of the four Ladin valleys and three Italian provinces by foot. It is a rather demanding excursion that requires excellent physical preparation and condition. After all, you’ll have to face a 750 m elevation gain and a whooping 1.900 m elevation drop over 25 km (44 km when using the lift facilities). A steady pace is also required with between 7 and 9 hours allocated for the tour, which is not recommended for families with children. | | Sellaronda Bike Day Twice a year, Sellaronda is dedicated to a cyckling sport event for the whole family to be enjoyed in early summer (June 11 2022) or fall (September 17 2022). The cycling competition for everyone is taking place on the Sella Group and is a bi-yearly siren’s call for countless cycling enthusiasts from near and far. The whole event boasts 53 km, while a 1.600 meter elevation gain awaits those willing to complete the whole distance and. The roads will be closed to cars, allowing cyclists to take over. | | Saslong Half Marathon The “Dolomites Saslong Half Marathon” is one of the most scenic mountain runs in the world taking place right in the heart of the Dolomites for the fourth time on June 11 2022. The 21,1 km trail run (with 900 meter of altitude difference) starts and ends in the beautiful area of Monte Pana and takes the runners along a partial rock and boulder route around the Sassolungo Group.
