Add to this an easily navigable roadmap and you’ve reached peak drive-time mouthfeel: The Mariposa Triangle Tasting Tour. YouTube: Zephyr Whitewater Rafting - Modern Day Pioneers
Zephyr started in 1973 with just Bob Ferguson, a raft, a school bus, and a truck. Today, it’s a multigenerational business with almost five decades of making Yosemite visitors laugh, hoot, and get a little wet!

In this video, learn about the Ferguson family and their journey together on the rivers of the western states, the Merced River just below Yosemite National Park, and the river of life.
Fall Colors - Visit Mammoth
Adventure grows big, bright and beautiful in a Mammoth Lakes fall. The natural awesomeness of the Eastern Sierra gets painted gold, crimson and orange and provides a backdrop for any epic story. Moments of pure, visceral awe can be found around every corner, whether hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking or floating on a lake waiting for a bite. In these warm days and cool nights, you’ll discover why fall in Mammoth Lakes is one of California’s best-kept secrets.

This fall may look a bit different than most in light of COVID-19. While the forest and mountains you know and love are the same, some etiquette and guidelines around travel and recreation have changed. Learn more about how the town of Mammoth Lakes and its businesses are doing their part to keep guests, workers and the local community safe and what is expected of visitors when they come to recreate in our beloved mountains.
Fall Colors in Mammoth Lakes
Fall in the Mammoth Lakes area is a glorious time of year. The Eastern Sierra region is laced with rugged canyons carved by rushing streams and is home to some of the finest fall color viewing anywhere.
Fall Colors Just South of Mammoth Lakes
Head 15 minutes south of Mammoth Lakes by car to the shores of Convict Lake. The vivid blue water of the lake is the perfect contrast to the bright gold aspen leaves. Hike around Convict Lake Loop to the largest aspen groves on the backside of the lake.
Fall Colors Just North of Mammoth Lakes
The June Lake Loop is an amazing place for a fall color scenic drive just north of Mammoth Lakes. Pass by June Lake, Gull Lake, Silver Lake and Grant Lake as you take in the vibrant groves of yellow and orange fall colors.
