NEWS FROM MEMPHIS & MISSISSIPPI

Memphis & Mississippi are progressing strongly with vaccinations and masks are no longer mandatory. Many tourist attractions, restaurants, bars and music venues are fully open for business. All we need is for the travel bans to be lifted which has to happen in the coming weeks. And remember the climate in Memphis & Mississippi is temperate so winter sun is definitely an option to consider for your clients.
MEMPHIS

LIVE MUSIC IS BACK IN MEMPHIS!

Anywhere you go in Memphis, there's a story waiting to be told, a song that connects to your heart and stays with your soul. Memphis Tourism celebrates that spirit with live music citywide every day this summer, kicking off with the GET LOUD free concert series in Handy Park on world-famous Beale Street.

The live music series kicked off Saturday, June 5 with GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter PJ Morton and will continue with ten Thursday night concerts starting June 10th and culminating on August 12th. The performances will be free and open to the public, and will pair a touring headline act with a Memphis-based band as opener. The line-up includes soul, R&B, Americana, singer/songwriter, blues, and rock music—with a focus on musicianship and fun performances.
NEW DIGS IN TOWN

Memphis has some new digs. Brand new hotels are open and taking reservations, making 2021 the perfect time to visit Memphis. Among the new properties are:

Located on Beale Street, the brand new Hyatt Centric property puts you in walking distance of Downtown Memphis’ biggest attractions, like The Orpheum Theatre, South Main Arts District, FedExForum, Beale Street landing and the Mississippi River and all the bars, restaurants and night clubs throughout the Beale Street Entertainment District. Plus, Hyatt Centric offers first-rate amenities such as an outdoor pool, 24-hour room service, a 24-hour fitness centre and on-site dining with Beck & Call Rooftop Lounge.

Once one of Memphis’ busiest train stations, Central Station is a gorgeous historic building that now welcomes hotel guests. Imagine: You check in at the old station lobby. Retire to a room with sweeping windows that frame your view of retro South Main Street and downtown Memphis.

Check-in at Moxy on historic Court Square and receive a poker chip that’s good for a snack or drinks onsite. Join a game on the bocce ball court, then lounge at the bar or around a firepit. Social spaces like these, combined with hip rooms and a prime downtown location make this Marriott concept one to check into this year. Hop on the downtown trolley at Court Square and Beale Street is minutes away.

Arrive Memphis is housed in a 1916 warehouse (and former Memphis College of Art space), located in downtown’s vibrant South Main Historic Arts District, and was a spot-on choice for the fifth hotel in Arrive’s ultra-creative portfolio. From Hustle and Dough’s coffee and legendary toast to Bar Hustle’s delicious craft cocktails—and don’t forget the shuffleboard bar, Longshot—Arrive Hotel is Memphis’ new one-of-a-kind hangout spot.

Canopy by Hilton recently opened across from AutoZone Park in the heart of Downtown Memphis. A stay at Canopy will make you feel right at home as you enjoy the sleek, modern accommodations of your guestroom. Curfew, the hotel's new sports bar and tavern, is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the city.
