Essential Yosemite Mariposa Hikes
With soaring 13,000 foot peaks, historical oak-studded river valleys, and thundering waterfalls, Yosemite Mariposa offers what could be the widest variety of hikes in California. Whether it’s a slow amble through the wildflowers while the kids chase butterflies or a solo climb up the granite switchbacks as clouds pass beneath you, there’s a trail for everyone regardless of age or ability.
RV Road Trip To Yosemite National Park
Yosemite Mariposa is the Perfect Route for an Unforgettable California National Parks Road Trip. The best – and easiest – way to take an RV road trip to Yosemite National Park is in Mariposa County. Highway 140 – the low elevation all-weather highway – runs through historic Mariposa County directly from California’s Central Valley to Yosemite National Park.
Yosemite Mariposa County Stargazing
There’s something about looking up at the stars that inspires dreams, and a shared purpose. President Teddy Roosevelt, champion of our National Parks System, had a mantra: “Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground.” No doubt when he famously camped with John Muir at Glacier Point they followed that advice. And what they saw in 1903 — the expanse of blackness sparkling with countless stars, the gauzy swath of the Milky Way — is exactly what can be seen today.
