Magic Is Here as Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks Prepare to Welcome Guests Again

Walt Disney World Resort theme parks are preparing for a phased reopening – with significant reduction in capacity – beginning 11 July, 2020, with Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will follow 15 July, 2020.

After being closed for nearly four months, Walt Disney World theme parks are reopening with a deliberate, responsible approach drawing on experience from Shanghai Disney Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland and Disney Springs. Aspects of a Disney theme park day have been re-examined in light of the new global environment, with new policies following guidance from health experts and government agencies. In addition to limits on attendance and controlled guest density, new procedures will be in place for park entry, attractions, dining, retail, transportation and more, with the well-being of guests and Disney cast members at the forefront of planning.
With all these changes, the fundamentals of a Disney theme park experience remain the same. Stories will come to life through favourite attractions and beloved characters, as signature Disney creativity and innovation deliver new ways to enjoy these experiences. Cast members are starting to return to work and carefully preparing for their roles, donning their costumes and pinning on their nametags for the first time in months. Because even with everything that’s happening in the world around them, they’re ready to help guests discover magic is here again at Walt Disney World theme parks.
Guests Will See Characters in New Ways and New Places When Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks Reopen
Part of the magic of a Walt Disney World Resort theme park visit is seeing beloved Disney characters. With traditional parades and character greetings on hiatus to promote physical distancing among guests, theme park character experiences have been reimagined in new and different ways. From cavalcades down Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom Park to sailings down Discovery River at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and much more, characters from dozens of favorite Disney stories will surprise and delight guests across all four theme parks. These are just some of the reimagined experiences guests will discover as the theme parks begin their phased reopening.
New Health and Safety Measures, Technology at Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park Dining Locations
New health and safety measures will be in place at restaurants across Walt Disney World Resort theme parks during their phased reopening. These new procedures include:

• Enhanced Cleaning – Seating and dining areas are cleaned between guest seatings, along with increased cleaning procedures in other high-traffic common areas.

• Self-Serve Changes – Beverages and other items previously available as self-service options will now be served directly to guests.
