Denmark’s luxury hotel in the heart of Sønderborg
The hotel including 190 rooms is the biggest hotel in the Danish-German borderland and is beautifully situated along Sønderborg’s lovely old waterfront. The master plan for the development of the Sønderborg waterfront was developed by prize-winning Canadian architect Frank Gehry. The hotel itself was designed by the renowned Danish architectural firm Henning Larsen Architects. High priority has been given to creating a sustainable structure, as Alsik is part of Sønderborg’s vision to be carbon-neutral by 2029. Today, Alsik is 76% carbon neutral and a green hotel from basement to roof.

| | Meetings & Events The conference area itself covers 1500 m2, which enables events of every size and set-up. The area includes nine specially-designed conference and meeting rooms as well as an exclusive boardroom. The two biggest conference rooms can be joined into one room covering 372 m2. The room opens directly onto a large inviting patio overlooking Alssund.
All meeting and conference rooms have full-length windows and fantastic views across the water. Similarly, the acoustics are in a class all their own, and neither the sounds of the lively waterfront nor the pulsating hotel enter the room. After a renovation project completed in February 2020, the conference rooms shine in light, warm, Mediterranean sand tones with beige and brown nuances. Combined with new modern conference furniture, a fantastic atmosphere for meetings and events is created. The foyer and the adjoining patio invite you on different levels such as lounge chairs, high tables and table groups for casual conversations during the coffee break. Some of you might be attracted to our leisure corner for a quick game of table football or to the newly created business corner to take care of urgent small things.
